About Tarox performance brakes
The surface on the brake discs are obtained from iron castings produced to ISO 9000 and TUV
certified specialist foundries.  Each casting is subjected to stringent quality controls, including sample
testing to avoid potential problems due to internal and external blowholes, cold shots, sand inclusions
and other defects.  Different types of cast iron are selected depending on the final use of the discs, so that
it can be chosen to put the emphasis either on strength rather than lightness, especially if the brake discs
are used in competition.  All the blank castings are subjected to structural stress relieving heat treatment
at the end of each machining phase.  It is this process which underpins the quality of TAROX brake discs.

Facing is performed on CNC turning machines or on traditional parallel lathes for small production lots.
Another distinguishing feature of TAROX brake discs is their perfectly level surface machined to a
tolerance approaching 0.015mm, achieved during the final finishing of the braking surface on grinding
machines ; each disc is ground individually in what is still a manual process.

TAROX - Sport Japan
Sport Japan (SJ) brake discs were originally designed for the Japanese market where tough looks and high performance are important factors. Sport Japan discs feature grooves on the braking surface which deglaze the pads and help vent the gasses and scale which cause fading. Drilled holes remove heat from the discs, allowing the discs to run cooler. All Sport Japan discs are heat treated for strength, milled on numerically controlled machines and hand finished to ensure the smoothest possible braking surface. Sport Japan Discs are TÜV approved

TAROX - G88
The G88 is probably the best known of all TAR-OX brake discs and the most instantly recognisable with its multiple radial grooves on the braking surface of the discs. These grooves are designed to generate a turbine effect which dissipates heat build up, allowing the discs to run cooler and reducing the possibility of warping, vibration or cracking. The grooves also deglaze the pads and expel gases built up between the disc and pad under braking, resulting in reduced brake fade. All G88 discs are heat treated for strength, hand finished to ensure the smoothest possible braking surface and TÜV approved.

TAROX replacement brakes are immediately recognisable above all for the machining of the braking surface.
G88 discs are machines on specifically tooled automatic milling machines and feature 40 grooves machined to a depth
of 2 to 5 mm. This generates a turbine effect which quickly dissipates heat, greatly reduces the risk of deformation,
vibration and cracking and also ensures swift evacuation of the scale produced between the disc and the pad.
The Sport Japan discs ensure rapid response braking and high temperature resistance thanks to the series of
drill-holes alternating with the slots on the braking surface which helps dissipate the heat and vent the
gases / scale that causes fading. Only numerical control milling machines are used for this machining process.

TAROX - Fast Road Pads
Available for most cars. The TAR-OX fast road compound pads are suitable for most road applications, they work from cold and are able to withstand temperatures up to 600 C, although they perform best at up to 400 C with their optimum temperature range being 150-200 C.

TAROX - Rally Pads
Available for most cars. Recommended for use on high performance cars, the TAR-OX rally compound pads are suitable for road applications and for racing, their soft compound provides high amounts of grip on the disc and superior braking performance, they will work virtually from cold and are able to withstand temperatures up to 700 C, although they perform best at up to 450 C with their optimum temperature range being 200-250 C.

TAROX - Braking Systems

4-POT Braking System
The TAR-OX 4-Pot caliper brake system is recommended for light cars under 700kg with wheels smaller than 14”. Particularly suitable for cars like the 'old' Mini Cooper.
6-POT Braking System
Fitting a TAR-OX upgrade kit will give you amazing braking performance and total confidence. By matching six piston calipers to the discs, problems such as disc failure, deformation and vibration are eliminated . TAR-OX offer a variety of calipers to suit various applications and customer requirements. The diameter of the pistons in the calipers are specific to each application to take into account the car's master cylinder.

Each kit contains 2 six pistons brake calipers, 2 brake discs including alloy bells, 2 adaptor clamps, 1 set of brake pads and 1 set of brake lines

The conversion kits are available with the spiral grooved F2000 discs as standard or with Sport Japan or D95 discs as an option.

8-POT Braking System
TAR-OX
brake 8 pot caliper brake upgrade is a vailable for all performance cars fitted with a least 18” wheels. Larger wheel diameters (18”+) allow larger discs (340mm-360mm diameter) to be fitted, but larger cast discs will also be heavier. The solution is to decrease the braking surface area of the discs as much as possible and mount it on a bigger light alloy hub. The B350 8 pot caliper makes this possible by using smaller multiple pistons to spread the pressure area around the outer circumference of the discs so that much of the centre portion of the discs can be removed.The B350 8 pot caliper does the same job as a massive conventional caliper would but without the weight penalty of a massive disc to go with it. The other advantage the B350 8 pot caliper has is that on conventional caliper this size pad wear would become a problem as one edge would wear more than the other.This problem has been solved by using four pads per caliper and four pots per pair of pads to evenly distribute the pressure applied.Using four pots per pair of pads also allows different bore sizes to be used to even out wear characteristics .
The TAR-OX B350 8 pot caliper is also available in 12 pot version.

10-POT Braking System
TAR-OX
are the only manufacturer in the world to offer a TEN pot caliper for road and track day use.

By matching 10 piston calipers to the discs, you achieve:
1. More evenly distributed pressure on the pads,
2. Better cooling action of the pads, because of more airflow behind the pad's metal support
3. Less stress factor on the caliper itself
4. More clamping action resulting in more braking power due to the presence of more pistons
5. Firmer pedal Strongly recommended for cars that suffer from a spongy pedal,

12-POT Braking System
The TAR-OX brake 12 pot caliper brake upgrade is available for all performance cars fitted with a least 18” wheels.
